Nathan Good -- South Boston, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
Greetings to you through the Lord Jesus. I am Nathan Robert Good, and have the grand privilege of being the husband of the tour mom, Mildred!
You will find that she is so easy to love. I live with her, work with
her, eat with her, travel with her. It's a wonderful life. Because of
how active I was in my mother's womb, my mother thought I must have been
leading singing before I was born. My sister and I were known to sing
for money at family gatherings when we were young. : ( I've enjoyed
leading congregations and choruses at churches, schools, and Bible
schools. I like to sing in men's quartets. Through the years we've
traveled a lot to hear choral groups and the King's Heralds quartet.
(Did you know the Heralds are now the King's Heralds again?) It's such a
blessing to be able to sing together as a family as well. I was ordained
to the ministry in 1993 and then as bishop in 2000. I serve here at
South Boston and at two churches in the Harrisonburg, VA, area. (I get
to travel with Mildred a lot!) I'm really looking forward to singing and
traveling with y'all in June. Singcerely, NathanBack to About Us Page
Mildred Good -- South Boston, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
Hi to all of you! I'm Mildred. I'll be your tour mom. I'll do all the
things moms are supposed to do: see that you are well fed, remind you of
your bedtime, listen to your joys and sorrows, soothe your hurts, and
pray for you unceasingly. I'll also be caring for my little grandson
Carver so his daddy and mommy can sing. I grew up in a home where we
sang a lot. As I matured and thought of a Godly husband, one of my
ideals, was a man that sang. God gave me the desires of my heart when He
gave me Nathan! And here was a man that practically breathed music!
Good music has always been a part of our home life. Our six children
grew up singing and playing instruments. Singing together as a family
has been a special privilege. To God be the glory! At this point in my
life my days are full with the responsibilities of homemaking, mothering,
and being the wife and helpmeet to a man with a busy schedule. Being a
grandma gives me much joy. I help out in our family business, Windmill
Farm Bake Shop, whenever needed. Teaching Sunday school periodically
and relating to the needs of our churches fill in all the empty spots in my
days. I look forward to the Tapestry tour with anticipation!Back to About Us Page |
Joshua Good -- Halifax, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
Music and singing have been a part of my life longer than I can even
remember. Believe it or not, I was singing my dad's Tristate Men's
Chorus songs before I could even talk! So with that accomplishment under
my belt, I decided to go on to bigger and better things! :) I feel very
blessed and privileged to have grown up in a family that not only sang a
lot together, but also worked hard at trying to sing well and sound good.
I enjoy listening to music as much as I possibly can, especially to
men's groups such as The King's Singers and Chanticleer. In the past few
years, I have been privileged to sing in various choral groups and
ensembles and under the direction of very talented individuals.
Presently, I am singing with a men's quintet known as Voice of Praise. I
have been singing first tenor with the group for close to two years now,
and I really enjoy it! When I'm not singing, I stay busy managing our
family's bakery, Windmill Farm Bake Shop, and spending quality time with
my dear wife, Kimberly. I am very excited about singing with Tapestry
this summer!Back to About Us Page
Kimberly Good -- Halifax, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
Hi, I'm Josh's wife. :) I am very excited also about the Tapestry tour.
I don't have a whole lot of musical background although I have always
really enjoyed singing. But I have been introduced to a lot of really
good singing and good quality music since I met Josh. He's taken me to
a number of really great concerts and I have enjoyed being at all his
Voice of Praise programs. I also work at the bakery, making sandwiches
and waiting on customers. The best part of it though is that I get to
be with Josh even though I'm at work. It's a wonderful thing to be
married! Some of the things I enjoy doing in my spare time are working
outside with plants and flowers, and scrapbooking. I am looking forward
to singing this summer and to meeting all of you that I've been hearing
so much about!Back to About Us Page |
Norvan Yoder -- Scottsburg, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
It's a beautiful evening, and I'm sitting at the kitchen table after a day's work. My thinking is interrupted by a little voice saying, "At's
tha, at's tha?" (translated "What's that? What's that?") Since I'm
writing to tell you about myself, that should give you a clue that I'm a
father, and, of course, a husband. Those are two of the most fulfilling
rolls I have in life, although they're not always the easiest. The day's
work that I mentioned was at a small print shop called Creative Ink. I
thank God for a job that I can enjoy. As you've probably noticed, I'm a
Yoder. The name "Yoder" originated from being a yodler, so my musical
roots go quite deep. (Please don't ask me to try yodling, however. : )
) My family has always loved to sing. When I was twelve I took banjo
lessons for one year. I still enjoy playing it occasionally, but my
music tastes have changed quite a bit. I took a couple of music classes
at Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute, and that was also where I really
started learning to enjoy choral singing. The Lord led Jewel and me
together, and that's why I'm a part of Tapestry. I thank God for a voice
to praise Him and am looking forward to the Tapestry tour.Back to About Us Page
Jewel Yoder -- Scottsburg, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
Being the wife of my Norv, the mother of our little Carv, and a keeper at
home, my life is fun, full, and challenging. I have grown up with a love
for music and remember Daddy being delighted when he heard my first
little-girl alto! Over the years I have had the privilege of singing
with various groups for different occasions and I took violin lessons for
twelve years. I so much enjoy singing with other lovers of good music.
Our June adventure is very exciting to me, although I know that a near
eight-month pregnant woman is not best fitted for this endeavor.
Hopefully I'll have enough breath left to sing and won't be too out of
proportion to be seen!Back to About Us Page
Carver Yoder -- Scottsburg, VA (Ebenezer Mennonite Church)
Hi! I'm a little boy named Carver Neil. I turned two years old on May
16, 2003. My daddy and mommy are Norvan and Jewel. My Grandma will care
for me on the Tapestry tour. I think it is very special that a little
fellow like me can go on a tour with all the good singers. When I grow
up I want to sing like my grandpa and all the rest. Here's a little note

Phil and Rosie Leichty -- Lebanon, Oregon (Fairview Mennonite Church)
Phil and I were married less than a year ago on August 17. He is a grass seed farmer, a substitute teacher in the local public high schools, as
well as a volleyball coach in the fall and tennis coach in the spring.
And that's pretty much his biography for the last twenty years. So you
see, he needed me to break the monotony. Oh yes, he isn't a singer, but he likes to
listen to me warble. Grin. I used to be called Rosie Smucker and still
occasionally get that appellation. I love to sing, have always loved to
sing, and sing whenever I get a chance for as long as anyone will sing
with me. Singing highlights in my past include: singing at school and
with my friends in the youth group, Chamber Choir at the local community
college, the many musical experiences at Westminster Choir College,
singing with the Eugene Hult Center Choir, and singing with all my
friends at our wedding. Short history of my life is as follows: grew up
in Oregon; attended community college, Maranatha Bible School, SMBI, and
FBEP; taught school in Catlett for two years; attended Westminster Choir
College in New Jersey earning a Bachelor of Music degree and a teaching
license; moved back to Oregon where I taught full time in a private
school for three years and part-time at my church school; met and married Phil. Along the way God
has blessed me with many lifetime friends, some of which are on this
tour. I'm happy that all of you will get to know them too, and we are
looking forward to getting to know the rest of you.

Conrad Gingerich -- Petersburg, WV (North Fork Mennonite Church)
For as long as I can remember, I have been surrounded with music. My dad
sang in a men's group for much of my growing up years, and we did LOTS of
singing as a family; at home and for programs. There were lots of King's
Heralds, Rosedale Chorale, Mennonite Hour, Hartville Singers and Mormon
Tabernacle Choir records and tapes which were played over and over until
we could sing along with all of them. This definitely shaped my singing
style and interests, and is why I am thrilled to be included in the
Tapestry group. I also enjoy working with wood and, from what other
people say, am a perfectionist. Fine detail is my thing. I am currently
working with another man in a wide variety of wood related jobs.
Construction, interior trim, cabinets and furniture to name a few.
Computers and engine mechanics are lesser interests of mine as well.Back to About Us Page
Naomi Gingerich -- Petersburg, WV (North Fork Mennonite Church)
Teaching young children the joy of enthusiastic singing, poetry, and
singing with others are some of my favorite things to do. As a child I
enjoyed learning new songs and making full use of my lungs. =) As I've
grown older my horizons in music have been broadened. Not only do I sing
for enjoyment but to learn more what good music is about. Being married
to a musically inclined husband is a great plus! We enjoy singing
together and also to our unborn treasure! At the present I steer the
ship of Domestic Affairs at home and do tutoring and teach an elementary
music class at school. I enjoy socializing and having a fun time with
friends, calligraphy, and rubber stamping.Back to About Us Page |
Patrick Heatwole -- Denmark, SC (Barnwell Mennonite Church)
One of my earliest singing memories is one of failure. As we often did throughout my childhood, my family was presenting some music during a
worship service. Unfortunately, on the last phrase of the last verse we
moved into some unplanned dissonance! So... We made another musical
attempt and landed the song successfully! I grew up in the Caribbean
with music all around; Latin music is infectious. Maybe because of this,
singing is one of my life's greatest pleasures. I have had the privilege
of directing our church choir for two years and teaching music to my
students. I currently am in my sixth year teaching at Barnwell Christian
School. Along with teaching I am working on a bachelors degree in Bible
and Humanities at Columbia International University. I love learning
(history, art, philosophy, English, math, etc., etc.) and teaching.
Together with music, I enjoy books, traveling, and plants. I'm looking
forward to praising the Lord with Tapestry.Back to About Us Page
Bethany Heatwole -- Denmark, SC (Barnwell Mennonite Church)
Hi! Some of my best memories have to do with music. Singing with
siblings, getting together with friends to have jam sessions, chorales,
singing at weddings, etc. have all contributed much to my enjoyment of
music. Of course since marrying Patrick that tradition continues. I am
just finishing up a year of teaching part time in the elementary at
Barnwell Christian School. It's been an enjoyable time even though it
has made me busier taking care of things at home. Some of the things I
love are books, volleyball, cappuccinos, people, music, shopping, and
hanging out with my husband. I am looking forward to singing with you
and getting to know you all. Back to About Us Page |
